Don't miss this event because...
Air ops have evolved to the point where multi-mission capabilities and multi-role fighters are integrated into a more adaptable and flexible form of air power. Current fighter platforms carry a variety of air-to-air and air-to-ground ordinance which is extending combat effectiveness. Recent operations, especially those in heavily populated areas necessitate further development of precision strike munitions. HARPOON, SLAM-ER and JDAM systems are seeing greater development as a result of this increased need for more accurate ordinance. Modern air combat likewise necessitates further development of advanced air-to-air missile technologies which allow for faster, better target acquisition and engagement. As a result, the AIM-120 and Aim-9X, are seeing continuous modernization efforts to keep them ahead of evolving air threats. With the addition of the JHMCS, the lethality of air-to-air weapons will increase combat effectiveness in diverse operations for all air forces.
ALW 2008 will provide important insight into current weapon systems, as well needs and requirements for systems currently under development.
IDGA’s Air-Launched Weapons briefings will discuss:
- Weapons Development
- Weapon Systems Integration
- Next Generation Technology in Weapon Systems
- Sustainment and Upgrades
- Operational Requirements
- Combined Operations and Interoperability
These in-depth need-to-know briefings from combat operators, program managers, developers and maintainers will provide insights on current development, projected capabilities and requirements. Air-Launched Weapons will deliver the latest in warfare capabilities and will provide attendees the ability to discuss and assess the issues and technologies therein.
